Winchester

AB kicked off the week defeating Winchester 90 to 87 with AB winning the 200-yard Medley Relay (Tyrrell, Lent, Teixeira, Sater) and 400-yard Freestyle Relay (Tyrrell, Lent, Kozhemiakina and Teixeira). The trio of divers (Robbe, Raguin and Baum) contributed to the team score taking first, second and third place respectively, with Camille Robbe securing her place in the State Tournament.

Notable swims included: Katherine Baxter making a Sectional Cut in the 200 free and taking second place. Olivia Sater making a Sectional Cut in the 200 IM and taking fourth place. Caroline Garnett finishing under 29 seconds for the first time this season in the 50 free with a (28.84) and Kira Kozhemiakina shaving off almost 3 seconds to finish 27.37 seconds in the 50 free.

In the 100 fly, Senior Captain Emma Lent securing her fourth State Cut to finish in first place with Emily Zhou finishing in second place. In the 100 free Bhumi Mishra dropping almost 2 seconds from her season best time to finish 1:13.09, and Kirthivarsha Sivakumar swam her season best time of 1:16.91. This event also saw impressive finishes from Caterina Nicu who finished in 1:03.25 and Mariel Tan inching even closer to that Sectional cut (59.93) swimming a quick 1:00.44.

In the 500 Free, Caroline Tyrrell came out strong with yet another State Cut for the season and Katherine Baxter added to her list of Sectional Cuts with an impressive performance as well. In the 100 Breast, Seniors Caroline Garnett and Madeline Cardone continued to show improvement over the season, both dropping a second from their previous season best performances. Similarly, Julia Xiao swam strong, dropping 3 seconds from her previous best time.

Chelmsford

AB next travelled to Lowell to face Chelmsford High School in a meet known for its long standing friendly rivalry. AB met the challenge against a strong team that had been previously undefeated winning with a score of 94 to 87. AB swept all three relays and finished first in every single swimming event with the exception of one event.

First year Senior divers continued to shine with Jenny Baum making her first State Cut and Nicole Raguin securing a spot in the State Sectional Meet. Equally impressive was Senior Captain Camille Robbe’s beautiful pike dive that earned her a 9.5 out of 10 by one of the judges. Divers Kimay Gazula and Shruthika Muthukumar Veena also had season best scores as their improvement is exciting to watch.

Notable swims included: Kira Kozhemiakina swimming past all of the competition to finish with a season best time, first place finish and a State Cut in the 200 Free. Isabela Teixeira outswam all of the rest of her competition and added to her impressive list of State Cuts in the 200 IM. Julia Xiao swam a season best time in the 100 fly shaving off 1 second from her previous best time. The team continued to show dramatic improvement in the 100 free event with Bhumi Mishra dropping 2 seconds, Caroline Garnett dropping a second, and Caroline Tyrrell adding a Sectional Cut to her accomplishments this season.

The 500 free event also saw amazing efforts as Kira Kozhemiakina started off quickly and never looked back as she took first place dropping 4 seconds from her previous best time. Equally impressive was Alice Hui who shaved off 6 seconds from her season best time. In the 100 Back, Hazel Burke swam a season best time dropping 2 seconds from her previous meet just days prior against Winchester.

AB faces Reading High School on Wednesday, October 12th at home beginning at 4:15 pm. Wednesday is a special night as the team recognizes all 10 Senior members of the team:
